Availability[edit]

Is feather actually available in Skyrim?--Alphaman•T• 17:59, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

It looks like it's name has been changed to Fortify Carry Weight, so this will probably get turned into a redirect soon. --NepheleTalk 22:09, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
A note, you can't actually disenchant the thieves guild armor for carrying capacity. — Unsigned comment by 169.236.45.204 (talk) at 08:31 on 1 December 2011
Another note, through experimentation giving Fortify Carry Weight-enchanted items to my followers, it does not seem to affect how much weight they will carry (despite equipping the ring and boots enchanted with Fortify Carry Weight which was 30 points each for 60 points total, the follower refused to carry any more weight still :/). --65.24.212.76 01:30, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Where to find[edit]

Does anyone know a guaranteed place to find an item to disenchant this from? A google search for the Charmed Necklace says in the 'Drinking Companions' Quest. However I can find no information on a quest by that name. — Unsigned comment by 75.121.106.26 (talk) at 22:05 on 9 January 2012

It is a random encounter, and they are guaranteed to have one. The Silencer has spokenTalk 16:01, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
However a guaranteed pair of Leather Boots of Hauling can be found in Sinderion's Field Laboratory. I'm not sure where/how to document such information, but it would probably be useful. Nephele did some work on this, but I think it didn't find it's way onto the wiki. It would need a bit of updating for add-ons released in the meantime though. --Alfwyn (talk) 11:04, 1 February 2014 (GMT)

Console application?[edit]

I noticed it has a console ID on it, how does one apply the effect via console? Also, is it possible to tune the effect up using the console (For example, making a 'Fortify Carry Weight 500' or anything? Thanks. — Unsigned comment by 70.71.12.186 (talk) at 00:07 on 21 May 2012

Followers?[edit]

Does giving a follower an item bearing this enchant increase their max carry capacity? — Unsigned comment by Grieves (talk • contribs) at 08:23 on 8 September 2012

Unfortunately no. The list of enchantments that work on followers is actually quite small. You can see it here. TheRealLurlock (talk) 07:12, 8 September 2012 (EDT)
Yes, it does work on at least some followers. I have confirmed that it works on Lydia. CAVEAT: it may seem like it doesn't work, at least at first. After you give her the necklace, you need to exit out of her inventory, then reopen it, in order for the enchantment to be applied. Elen Sila (talk) 17:32, 6 April 2014 (GMT)

I can confirm that, YES, this does work with Lydia, Mjoll, Eola, Aela, and Jenassa, as I have used it on equipment that I made for all of them. But, like Elen Sila said, u have to fill there inventory, then close the trading menu and then reopen it to add additional items to the followers inventory, and u have to repeat this process for every additional item you want the follower to carry. When the followers inventory is full, u will know it because exiting and reopening the menu will not allow anything else to be added. Occasionally when I go to give my follower additional items, it will act as if there inventory is totally full when I know its not, and exiting the trade menu and reopening it will not make it change. When this happens I have found that fast traveling or removeing a piece of there fortify carry weight enchanted armor and then giving it back fixes this. _C.H. — Unsigned comment by 65.184.138.31 (talk) at 03:28 on 21 November 2014

Enchanting Perks?[edit]

Does either Corpus Enchanter or Insightful Enchanter affect carry Weight enchantments? Crayolamanic (talk) 04:58, 1 February 2014 (GMT)

No, both perks check for keywords the effect EnchFortifyCarryConstantSelf doesn't have. --Alfwyn (talk) 10:51, 1 February 2014 (GMT)

What is the deal with this? Has anyone found a way to fix this other than reloading a prior game save?

Skyrim where to find carry weight enchantment

Is there a calculation or calculator to determine my theoretical carry weight?

My carry weight now is 370. When I was 'well' and had equipped all my CW elevating equipment, my CW was 527, but now it is 460 or so. 198.91.176.251 14:46, 24 July 2018 (UTC)

Found this ((Stamina - 100) / 10 + 1) * 5 + 300 = Carry Weight. Also by removing all inventory into various chests in my home until 0 weight carrying, went outside, then back in, getting all my stuff back from the chests in my house, equipping all my CW enchanted stuff, my CW was 532 or some such which was fine. I have found from experience that some enchanted stuff like shields have to be unequipped, then re-equipped before their enchantments work properly again. 198.91.176.251 16:29, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
